United Kingdom · By country

UK stadiums

The 24 grounds in the United Kingdom with a page here, grouped by country rather than ranked, and each one carrying the thing that page actually answers. Every capacity is attributed to the club, venue operator or governing body that published it.

Each card carries the capacity, the club or operator, and the one thing that page settles that the club's own site does not. England, Scotland and Wales below; Northern Ireland has no written-up ground yet.

England

  • Allianz Stadium

    England national rugby union team

    82,000

L1 to L36 in the lower tier, M blocks above, and nothing the RFU publish that joins the two.

    Twickenham seating plan
  • American Express Stadium

    Brighton & Hove Albion

    Disputed

Four capacity figures on Brighton's own pages, none of them reconciled with each other.

    Amex Stadium
  • Anfield

    Liverpool

    61,276

Two Liverpool documents disagree about where away wheelchair users sit: AL7 and AL8, or AL9 and AL8.

    Anfield seating plan
  • Coventry Building Society Arena

    Coventry City

    32,609

32,609 seats in the bowl, and an 8,000-capacity indoor arena that is a separate venue in the same complex.

    Coventry Building Society Arena
  • Craven Cottage

    Fulham

    27,000

27,000 with an expiry date, and 7,273 seats the four-stand split does not account for.

    Craven Cottage capacity
  • Elland Road

    Leeds United

    37,645

37,645 seats today, against a redevelopment planned at circa 53,000.

    Elland Road capacity
  • Emirates Stadium

    Arsenal

    60,704

Arsenal publish neither a seating plan nor an away section, and both once existed — one document answers 404, the other 410.

  • Etihad Stadium

    Manchester City

    Disputed

City renumbered the whole ground for 2025/26, so most published plans describe a stadium that no longer exists.

    Etihad Stadium seating plan
  • Gtech Community Stadium

    Brentford

    17,250

Brentford publish 17,250 fans rather than 17,250 seats, and the word is doing work.

    Gtech Community Stadium
  • MKM Stadium

    Hull City

    25,586

Hull City publish no capacity anywhere; the 25,586 is stated by Hull FC, the other tenant.

    MKM Stadium
  • Old Trafford

    Manchester United

    74,233

Four different capacities on Manchester United's own website, and which one wins.

    Old Trafford capacity
  • Portman Road

    Ipswich Town

    30,056

30,056, with 383 seats the club's own four-way stand split does not explain.

    Portman Road
  • Selhurst Park

    Crystal Palace

    26,000

26,000 today, more than 34,000 once the Main Stand rebuild finishes.

    Selhurst Park capacity
  • St. James' Park

    Newcastle United

    52,719

52,719 this season against 52,305 last, after roughly 500 seats were added.

    St James' Park capacity
  • Stamford Bridge

    Chelsea

    40,022

Chelsea state 40,022; the 40,341 nearly every other site prints appears nowhere on their pages.

    Stamford Bridge capacity

    Nottingham Forest

    30,445

30,445 today, over 50,000 on the published plans.

    The City Ground

    Tottenham Hotspur

    62,850

The club count 62,850 and the Premier League 62,062, and nobody explains the gap.

    Tottenham stadium tour
  • Villa Park

    Aston Villa

    43,205

Aston Villa state 43,205 and the Premier League 42,918 for the same season.

    Villa Park capacity

    AFC Bournemouth

    11,286

The smallest ground in the Premier League, and what the South Stand rebuild changes.

    Vitality Stadium
  • Wembley Stadium

    England national football team

    90,000

The first digit of your block is the level you are on, and the ground has no named stands.

Scotland

  • Hampden Park

    Scotland national football team

    51,866

The Scottish FA name two different away sections in two of their own guides, and two wheelchair totals 28 apart.

    Hampden Park capacity
  • Murrayfield

    Scotland national rugby union team

    67,144

Ninety-nine numbered sections across four stands, and seven numbers that are simply absent.

    Murrayfield seating plan

Wales

    Wales national rugby union team

    73,931

The WRU publish three tiers that add up to 73,931 exactly, and no block directory at all.

Grounds without a page

Not every UK ground here has one. A stadium gets a page only when the club or venue publishes enough for the page to say something a reader cannot get from the club's own site — otherwise it stays a row on a ranking, which is the honest place for it. The Premier League ranking lists all twenty grounds whether or not they are written up.

The rankings

Every ground in the datasets appears on one of these, whether or not it has a page of its own.
