The major redevelopment towards 2028

In May 2025, Odense Sport & Event and Odense Municipality presented an agreement to modernise and future-proof Nature Energy Park. The project has a total budget of 210 million Danish kroner and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2028, when OB will take to the pitch at a new version of the stadium.

What does the redevelopment include?

• Enclosed corners: The four corners of the ground are closed off, tying the stands together into a single bowl.
• Full roofing: Every spectator seat will be covered.
• Increased capacity: From 15,790 to around 16,800 seats.
• More facilities: Twice as many toilets and three times as many kiosks.
• Larger VIP area: The VIP zone is doubled.

With the upgrade, Nature Energy Park meets the Danish League Association’s requirements for Superliga stadiums and will be better placed to attract internationals and cup finals. The work has been described as a sustainable renovation, reusing existing foundations and retaining as many seats as possible. The project went out to tender in December 2025, and OB can keep playing at the stadium throughout the construction, as the work is carried out in phases.

The redevelopment is also the first step towards a wider sports district in Bolbro around the stadium.

Odense Stadium opened in 1941 and has been OB’s permanent home ground ever since.
