Pitch tours

What is a pitch tour in a stadium?

A pitch tour is a guided stadium experience that takes guests all the way down to the playing surface and behind the scenes in the venue’s most exclusive areas. You move from the regular stands through the players’ tunnel to the pitch, the dressing rooms, media zones, and VIP lounges.

Experiences along the way

On a typical tour, visitors have the chance to:

  • Stand on the touchline and at the center spot where the biggest moments have taken place.
  • See the home and away dressing rooms, treatment rooms, and press area.
  • Hear stories about legendary matches, iconic goals, and special moments at the stadium.
  • Some stadiums also offer special events such as matchday tours, where you feel the atmosphere close to the pitch shortly before kick‑off, or evening tours with lights and sound, where you see the stadium “wake up” for a concert or big game.

Guides and special hosts

Depending on the stadium, tours can be led by:

  • Experienced stadium guides with deep knowledge of the club, architecture, and history.
  • Former players or coaches who share anecdotes from the pitch and dressing room.
  • Technical specialists (groundskeepers, security or event managers) who explain how a modern stadium is run day to day.
  • If you create a premium version of the tour, you can highlight the chance to meet a well‑known guide, get autographs, or take photos at special photo spots by the pitch.

Pricing and Premium Tours

Prices vary widely between countries and stadiums, but typically you will see:

  • Standard Pitch Tour – 90 minutes
  • Guided visit to stands, players’ tunnel, pitchside, and press area.
  • Premium Pitch Tour – 2–2.5 hours
  • Everything in the standard tour
  • Extended access to VIP areas
  • Q&A with a former player or club profile
  • Photo opportunities on the pitch and in the players’ tunnel.
  • Group and corporate packages: Fixed price per group or per hour, often with the option to combine the pitch tour with meeting rooms, receptions, or networking events.

Special highlights on the tours

To make the tours more attractive, you can highlight elements such as:

  • “History moments” – stops at the exact spots where famous goals or finals took place.
  • “Matchday backstage” – a look at how the stadium prepares on game days (lights, sound, security, catering).
  • Technical insights – how the grass is maintained, how the venue switches from football to concerts, and how crowds of 30,000+ are handled.
  • Photo stops with trophies, shirts, or memorabilia from the club’s history.
